DVTECT® PATENT GRANTED IN EUROPE.

Kynetyka is delighted to announce that the European Patent Office has granted the DVTect patent, with receipt of the Letters Patent Certificate for “A screening test for detection of deep vein thrombosis.”

The patent states: “The present invention relates to systems and apparatus for assisting healthcare workers in the screening and detection of abnormalities and pathological states in soft tissue, and has particular application at least, but not confined to, the screening and detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of the lower limbs”

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a significant health burden in Europe, with up to 1.5 million venous thromboembolism (VTE) events, including DVT and pulmonary embolism, annually across the European Union. These events cause substantial mortality and economic costs, with hundreds of thousands of deaths per year and annual costs in the billions of Euros.

This European patent adds to the coverage that DVTect already has, with granted patents in USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
